About The Site
The Site
Spitfire Homes’ site on Bradford Lane is located at the southern boundary of Belbroughton village on land currently used for agriculture. The site is ‘dog leg’ shaped, wrapping around the southern and eastern boundaries of Belbroughton CofE Primary School.
Vehicular access to the site would be provided directly from Bradford Lane, while pedestrian access is proposed linking the northern edge of the site with the existing Public Right of Way north of the school.
The sites strategic location benefits from close proximity to the local centre and its amenities, providing easy access by foot and making it a logical and sustainable location for a natural extension to the village.

The case for new homes
All councils in England are expected to allocate land to deliver enough homes to meet the needs of residents and safeguard land for future development. Bromsgrove District Council is unable to demonstrate sufficient ‘housing land supply’, which is why we are bringing forward our proposals to provide award-winning sustainable homes for people in the district at Bradford Lane.
The site is currently designated as Green Belt, but following new guidance from central Government, Spitfire Homes is confident that there is adequate scope for the site to be considered ‘grey belt’ owing to the district’s existing housing pressures and the site’s limited contribution to the key purposes of the Green Belt.
Archaeological assessments have been carried out on site, revealing that there is no remarkable evidence of heritage significance at the site.
